My research explores how minerals preserve the environmental history of planetary bodies. By deciphering the mineralogical record, I reconstruct the evolution of ancient surface and subsurface environments. I focus especially on early Mars — once hosting rivers and lakes — and on the hidden oceans beneath the icy shells of Jupiter’s and Saturn’s moons. These environments represent some of the most promising hotspots in our search for extraterrestrial life, offering windows into where liquid water, energy, and habitability may have persisted beyond Earth allowing life to form.
